Janet Jackson says that she has formed a strong bond with her brother Michael’s three kids and would step up and raise them if needed.

Singer and actress Janet Jackson has stepped up and offered to raise Michael’s three children, Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and “Blanket”, 7. She says that she loves the children as her own and has really formed a bond with them since her brother’s death.

Michael named his mother Katherine as the guardian of the children in his will, but according to Michael’s  ’spiritual adviser’ Rev June Gatlin, he wanted Janet to care for the kids if anything happened to his mother.

Gatlin told the Today Show, “Michael loved his sister, Michael trusted his sister, he trusted Janet explicitly.”

A family insider told The Sun newspaper, “Janet has said, “I love them and I’ll step forward and raise them if this is what they want. She tells everyone she loves them as if they were her own. The children have chosen her as their confidante and mother figure, and Janet feels her place is at their side. She’s completely bonded with those children in the last two weeks. It’s clear to everyone that they are looking to her for comfort and guidance. Janet is blossoming as a woman with tremendous maternal instincts.”

Janet has been divorced twice, but has no children of her own. She recently just broke up with her longtime fiance Jermaine Dupri.

Katherine Jackson has been given temporary custody of Michael’s children since his death last month. A hearing is being held later this month for the permanent custody of Paris and Prince between Katherine Jackson the children’s mother and Michael’s ex, Debbie Rowe.

Madonna Is Now Looking To Lesotho To Adopt a Child

June 8, 2009 by tiffanyb

After being denied an adoption in Malawi, Madonna has moved on to the country of Lesotho for a child.

It appears that being denied an adoption of a little girl in Malawi has not thwarted Madonna’s quest for another child. Madonna has been told that her appeal to adopt 4-year-old Mercy from a Malawian orphanage does not look good. She still hopes to be able to adopt Mercy, but is considering other options.

Madonna was seen with her son David, watching Prince Harry play polo in aid of his charity Sentebale in New York last weekend. Prince Harry has close links to the country of Lesotho, while Sentebale has raised money for children in poverished countries.

A source has revealed, “Madonna is not a patient person, she’s used to getting what she wants. She has said she won’t give up on Mercy but if she’s blocked from adopting her legally then she will think about trying to adopt another baby. She has already started looking into other African countries.”

The source goes on to say, “Madonna was devastated when she was told she couldn’t adopt Mercy. Her plan now is to start the ball rolling somewhere else. She has promised David a sister and she wants another African child. If a miracle happens and she gets to adopt Mercy, I see no reason why she wouldn’t go ahead and adopt another child from a different African country as well.”

In regards to Lesotho, the inside source says, “She has done some research on Lesotho and because it’s a place that is ravaged by AIDS and has a high number of orphans, it could be the perfect second choice.”

Madonna is being denied her adoption in Malawi due to strict residency laws. Other African countries like Lesotho, do not have these adoption requirements.

The boy, who was taken to hospital after being discovered, has been placed into care. Lawyers have told the media that Halkett has met with her child and hopes to one day be reunited with him.
