Janet Jackson says that she has formed a strong bond with her brother Michael’s three kids and would step up and raise them if needed.
Singer and actress Janet Jackson has stepped up and offered to raise Michael’s three children, Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and “Blanket”, 7. She says that she loves the children as her own and has really formed a bond with them since her brother’s death.
Michael named his mother Katherine as the guardian of the children in his will, but according to Michael’s ’spiritual adviser’ Rev June Gatlin, he wanted Janet to care for the kids if anything happened to his mother.
Gatlin told the Today Show, “Michael loved his sister, Michael trusted his sister, he trusted Janet explicitly.”
A family insider told The Sun newspaper, “Janet has said, “I love them and I’ll step forward and raise them if this is what they want. She tells everyone she loves them as if they were her own. The children have chosen her as their confidante and mother figure, and Janet feels her place is at their side. She’s completely bonded with those children in the last two weeks. It’s clear to everyone that they are looking to her for comfort and guidance. Janet is blossoming as a woman with tremendous maternal instincts.”
Janet has been divorced twice, but has no children of her own. She recently just broke up with her longtime fiance Jermaine Dupri.
Katherine Jackson has been given temporary custody of Michael’s children since his death last month. A hearing is being held later this month for the permanent custody of Paris and Prince between Katherine Jackson the children’s mother and Michael’s ex, Debbie Rowe.

US Weekly is reporting that Michael Jackson’s dermatologist Arnold Klein is the biological father of Prince and Paris.
Even though Debbie Rowe was married to Michael Jackson for a brief period of time, it has come out that the children that she carried for the singer were not his biological kids. Several inside sources are confirming to US Weekly that Jackson’s friend and dermatologist Arnold Klein is the biological father of Michael’s children Prince and Paris.
One insider says, “He is the dad. He and Debbie signed an agreement saying they would never reveal the truth.”
Debbie Rowe has confessed that she had Michael’s children as a favor to him and that she had no previous interest in having children. Rowe admitted, “I said, ‘Let me do this. You need to be a dad. You have been so good to me.” She has also recently admitted that she and Michael were never intimate and slept in separate beds. She admits that she was artificially inseminated, but did no say by who.
Klein has not commented on the latest media reports to date.
Fertility Treatment Tourists are as high as 25,000 Women per Year

Research data on women over 40 years old seeking fertility treatment in Europe has just become available. Across Europe, women are searching for procedures that are outlawed in their own country.
Droves of French gay women bypass a ban by seeking treatment in Belgium, Italian women are crossing the border in large numbers following tough legal restrictions on IVF imposed in 2004 and UK women travel because they are often refused fertility treatment over 40 with the National Healthcare Service.
The study co-ordinated by Francoise Shenfield from University College hospital in London said at a conference in Amsterdam that it appeared at least 20,000 to 25,000 cross-border fertility treatments were carried out each year. While one woman might have more than one treatment, there are still many thousands seeking help to get pregnancy abroad.
From the UK hundreds are thought to be travelling from every month. The Czech Republic and Spain are the most popular destinations for UK women looking to obtain donated eggs.
As women get older, their eggs are fewer, and less likely to fertilise and implant in the womb. Donated eggs can be their only chance, but they are in short supply in the UK, where the rules say donors can only be given expenses up to £250.
In Spain, by contrast, the ceiling on compensation is 900 euros and in the Czech Republic women receive 500 euros. Of the women in the study leaving the UK for treatment, 53% went to the Czech Republic and 28% went to Spain.
Dr Shenfield said that, although the UK had some of the most liberal fertility laws in Europe, there were “all kinds of barriers” to treatment on the NHS, including age and waiting lists. Private treatment is very expensive. “They might find it is cheaper to go somewhere else,” she said. “London is still one of the most expensive capitals in the whole of Europe.”
Infertility Network UK confirmed that many couples consider travelling because they cannot get help at home. An online survey of over 300 patients last year found that 76% would consider going abroad. The vast majority of those who went (88%) were happy with their treatment. Chief executive Clare Lewis-Jones said many patients could not get NHS care because they did not fit the “extremely tight access criteria applied by many of the PCTs”.
Couples are finding clinics in Europe on the internet and even in adverts in airline magazines, she said. “I don’t think it is stoppable. There is no ethical reason why it should be stopped, because it enhances the autonomy of patients. But we must concentrate on the information and make it even safer for our patients,” she said.
One of her concerns was that women would have several embryos transferred in a European clinic, where in the UK the move is to have just one. Multiple pregnancies are riskier, especially for the babies who may be premature and need intensive care. “We know that women will come back with problems,” she said.
The willingness of women to donate their eggs in countries with higher levels of compensation payments was a very important ethical issue, she added. “Young women may not be well enough counselled about what it means to donate eggs,” she said. “The risks are very little but there is the psychology of it all – realising 10 years later when one is a bit more mature what it means to give some of your genetic input, whether you are a man or a woman.”
The study was carried out in six countries during the course of one month – Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland – where foreign patients in fertility clinics were given questionnaires about their trip. A total of 1,230 forms were completed. The biggest proportions were from Italy (31.8%), Germany (14.4%), the Netherlands (12.1%) and France (8.7%).
Most travelled to bypass legal restrictions, but 34% of those from the UK said they went abroad because of difficulties of access to treatment, a further disincentive has been the rule change to help a child discover the identity of the donor when he or she is 18.
The average age was over 37 but 63.5% of the British patients were over 40.
Coleen Rooney Goes Jet Skiing at 6 Months Pregnant

Coleen and her husband Wayne Rooney are taking a holiday in the south of France as they relax on a yacht and jet ski in the water.
Apparently pregnancy is not holding Coleen Rooney back from having fun. Even though she is 6 months pregnant, she went jet skiing in St. Tropez. She donned her life jacket over her baby bump and headed off on her jet ski.
Coleen also enjoyed sun bathing on a yacht and riding on a powerboat with friends. She was sporting a blue bikini that showed off her growing belly. Her and Wayne appeared to be having a great time enjoying Wayne’s break from football.
Coleen and Wayne just recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary in Barbados. Coleen is due to give birth to their first child in late summer/ early fall.
After the pictures of Coleen were posted whizzing by on her jet ski, many people wondered if this could be safe for a six month pregnant woman. What if she fell off the jet ski and her belly hit the water? Jet skiing is normally not on the list of appropriate sports for pregnant woman. Or is she just trying to have fun before her baby comes?
Mother Killed Newborns And Placed Bodies In Freezer
A mother in France has gone on trial accused of killing two newborn babies and hiding their bodies in a freezer.
Veronique Courjault has been accussed of keeping her pregnancies secret from her husband, and will be sentenced to life imprisonment if found guilty of murder.
Judges will have to decide whether Courjault was aware of what she was doing or if she was in denial about becoming a mother.
Courjault, who has two sons aged nine and eleven, was living with her husband in Seoul, South Korea in 2006. Her husband, Jean-Louis, made the grizzling discovery while his wife was in France with her children.
After buying some fish, Jean-Louis, who is an engineer, decided to put it in the freezer downstairs. He called the police, and then flew to France to inform his wife. At a press conference, they told reporters that they had no idea how the babies had turned up in their freezer.
DNA tests later concluded that they were the parents of the babies, and they were both arrested. His wife confessed that she had given birth to the children alone in 2002 and 2003 in her bathroom. She later strangled the babies and froze their bodies, she said that she kept the pregnancies a secret from her husband, who was often away for long periods of time.
Courjault also confessed that she had killed a baby in 1999 while in France, and had disposed of the body in the family fireplace.
She said “For me, it was never children, it was a part of me, a prolongation of myself that I killed,”
She has spent two and a half years in prison, and her husband has been cleared of any involvement in the murders. He said: “Society has to admit that not all pregnancies are happy. My wife certainly has a problem of a psychological order.”

Salma Hayek Shows Off Her Daughter On The Set of Her New Movie

Salma Hayek is busy juggling being an actress, a mom, and a wife, so it is no surprise that she pulls double duty sometimes, bringing her daughter Valentina on set with her.
Salma Hayek showed off her beautiful 20-month-old daughter Valentina on the set of her new movie, “Grown Up.” The little toddler had a ball playing on the set and showing off for others.
Just last month Valentina served as the flower girl for Salma’s wedding to François-Henri Pinault, who is the little girl’s father. The wedding hosted tons of different stars such as Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, Bono, Woody Harrelson, and Anna Wintour. It was actually the couple’s second wedding, as they had a private wedding in Paris on Valentine’s Day.
The couple got engaged when they announced that Salma was pregnant back in March 2007, but later called off the engagement. They have been together since 2006.
Salma is also famous for breastfeeding a baby boy on a trip to Africa. She said, “He was very hungry - I was weaning my daughter Valentina, but I still had a lot of milk, so I breastfed the baby.” This actually caused quite a controversy for the actress.
Valentina is the only child for the couple.
More Women Having Children Outside Of Wedlock
More and more mothers are now raising their children out of wedlock in the United States. Many women in their 20s and 30s are now opting to have a family without getting married.
Over recent years, the number of single mothers has risen sharply, with nearly four out of ten births now being unmarried women.
Researchers from the National Center for Health Statistics have analysed birth certificates nationally and yesterday released a report on their findings.
Contributing factors include: less social stigma, couples deciding to delay or not to get married, an increasing number of financially independent women, and women who are older and single deciding to go ahead and have a child on their own.
Professor Rosanna Hertz at Wellesley College said “This is becoming increasingly the norm. The old adage that ‘first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage’ just no longer holds true.”
“Women can have children on their own, and it’s not going to destroy your employment, and it’s not going to mean that you’ll be made a pariah by the community,”
“It’s much more socially acceptable.”
Around 1.7 million babies in 2007 were born to an unmarried women, more than double the number in 1980.
Although the rates increased for all races, the number of unmarried women giving birth was highest for Hispanics and blacks.
The numbers of babies being born to unmarried women is high in parts of Europe, where many couples decide to co-habit instead of getting married.
Percentage of babies born to unmarried mothers:
Iceland (66%), Sweden (55%), France (50%), and the UK (44%).
