Shocking C-Section delivery rate of a quarter of all babies in England

A quarter of babies delivered in England are by C-Section. This figure is double the World Health Organisation’s recommended rate and described as a, “serious cause for concern” by LibDem health spokesman Norman Lamb.
Almost 25% or around 155,000 babies last year were delivered via caesarean section despite efforts to reduce the number of surgical deliveries.

Pregnant women are still not offered choices according to a recent NCT report, but the Department of Health disputes the findings.
