The Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh picked up her award for Celebrity Mum of the Year at the Lowry Hotel and also announced that she was no longer single.
The mother of two beamed as she was awarded the Celebrity Mum of the Year Award but also because she announced that she had reconciled with her ex Jamie Lomas.
Kym said, “Yes we are back together. Jamie has got a son of his own and he is a very good father but he can’t win Celebrity Mum of the Year.”
Last month Kym and Jamie announced that they were ending their 15 month relationship but apparently that did not last very long.
Kym has had some hard time the past few years between the divorce of her and Jack Ryder, the split between her and Jamie and especially the premature death of her baby with Jamie.
When accepting her award, Kym said, “I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children. It is so important to have a big family network. My parents are so supportive and their dad is very involved in our children’s upbringing.”
Twenty celebrity mums were chosen as finalist and the winner was chosen by a public vote. Kym beat out other celebrity mums such as Samantha Cameron, Katie Price, Kate Moss, Geri Halliwell, Holly Willoughby, Charlotte Church, Natasha Kaplinsky and Kate Garraway.
Previous winners of the award include Katie Price (2007), Sharon Osbourne (2006), Kerry Katona (2005), Ulrika Jonsson (2004) and Melinda Messenger (2003).
Kym lives with her two children David,14 and Emily,11 in Cheshire. The father of her kids is her ex-boyfriend Dave Cunliffe.

Single Mum Geri Halliwell says, “It’s quite tough.”

Geri Halliwell, 36, confesses in a new interview that she never wanted to be a single mother.
Geri said, “I don’t think it’s the ideal scenario,”
“It’s quite tough.”
Unlike other mothers who have her disposable wealth, Geri nurtures daughter Bluebell Madonna, who will be three this month, without the help of a nanny when they are in the UK.
Geri turned her hand to writing children’s books in order to provide greater stability in Bluebell’s life.
“I wanted to write, because it meant I wouldn’t be at work all the time. I could work in the house and still spend plenty of time with my child.”
Geri says that one of the unexpected emotions of motherhood is guilt. “As soon as you have a child, you get guilty,”
“I’m always thinking, ‘Is that good enough? Am I doing it right?’” Her decision to breastfeed was fraught with the emotion, but Geri says she now has no regrets about weaning Bluebell at five months. “It was a long time,” she says. “Let it go!”
“And it’s such a fib that it makes you thinner. That’s a lie told by the milk mafia. I was extra-hungry. I was not dropping the baby weight.”
Adding that her “boobs look alright,” Geri concedes that they’re “maybe not as tip-top as they were,” but not so bad that she’d consider plastic surgery. “I would feel bad about … going under anesthetic,” she explains. “I have a child; [What if] I died?”
Her recent relationship with Fabrizio Politi was a short-lived whirlwind. Geri is adamant however that as a result of Bluebell she’s “more cautious” about whom she dates, and that her taste in men has changed as well. “If somebody doesn’t like children, they’re not going to come near me.”
