Charlotte Church’s Toddler Daughters Suffers From Breath Holding Spells During Tantrums

Charlotte Church fears her daughter’s medical condition as the toddler holds her breath during tantrums, causing her to pass out.

Charlotte’s two-year old daughter Ruby has a very rare medical condition called BHS or Breath Holding Spells. The condition makes a child hold their breath during a tantrum and can even cause them to pass out due to lack of oxygen.

Church and her longtime partner Gavin Henson says that the first time it happened it was “horrendous.”

While speaking at a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital for Wales, Charlotte said,

“Ruby does this thing when she holds her breath, especially when she is having a tantrum and wants her own way. She will hold her breath until she passes out - the first time it happened it was absolutely horrendous.I took her to hospital and they said some children do this until the age of about three when they grow out of it. We’ve been taught to bring her round by spraying her face with water or blowing on her face.”

She added, “Every time it’s happened she’s been fine afterwards but it’s causes Gavin and I a lot of worry.”

The singer admits that because of BHS, she is having a hard time disciplining Ruby during the “terrible twos.”

Charlotte also added that she doesn’t fear that her 8-month-old son will have the same condition.

Charlotte Celebrates the Christening of Her Son

As she celebrates the christening of her 7-month-old son Dexter, she reveals that she would love to have more children.

Charlotte Church and her partner Gavin Henson celebrated the christening of their youngest child, Dexter this past weekend. Dexter was christened at St. Marys church in Cardiff. A large party with over 100 guests was then held at the couple’s home in St Brides Major in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Apparently the pain that Charlotte went through during her pregnancies has long been forgotten since giving birth to her two kids, Dexter, 7 months, and Ruby, 23 months. She had told Hello! magazine that her hips were extremely painful when she was pregnant. “I suffer badly with aching hips when I’m pregnant and last time, with Dexter, it was so painful,” she said.

Charlotte’s partner, Gavin Henson said, “‘We definitely want more kids, though, but we think we’ll wait a few years now until Ruby goes to school.”

Charlotte also revealed that she did not feel pressure from being in the media to lose the baby weight right away. She says, “I couldn’t care. When I get to the stage where I personally think, “Crikey, I’ve got to do something about this”, I’ll eat less or eat healthier but I won’t be spurred on by what’s written in the media.”

Even so, she does admit that it is nice to have her body back after having two children so close together. “‘The range of clothes in my wardrobe is ridiculous - they go from an eight to a 16, from when I was so big with Ruby. So yes, it is kind of nice to have my body back.”

Henson also revealed that someday the couple would like to get married but don’t see it as a priority. He said, “‘Hopefully we’ll get married at some point, but it’s not a priority or something we’re planning at the moment.”

         

Charlotte Church Shows Off Her Post-Baby Body

Charlotte Church showed off her new slimmer figure at the launch of a friend’s debut album in Cardiff.

After having her second child Dexter in January of this year, singer Charlotte Church was afraid that she would not be able to lose the baby weight. The singer has said to have lost a stone in two months and has gone from a size 14 to a size a 12. She has been following a strict deit and exercise plan.

She has been spotted working out outside her home out in the Welsh countryside with her partner Gavin Henson, 27.

An onlooker told Reveal magazine, “‘Charlotte was running up and down a gentle incline with Gavin by her side. They then did some stretches together on the ground. Gavin was giving Charlotte lots of encouragement. which was helping her along.”

Church has admitted that she absolutely does not like exercising even though she has her own gym in her home. She once said, “I just love food and hate the gym - it’s a pretty curvy combination.”
