Mel B Attends Shrek Premiere with Her Girls

Despite not being on the friendliest of terms with her daughter’s father Eddie Murphy in the past it appears that the two may be trying to get along for their daughter as Melanie Brown brings her girls to the premier fo Shrek, which stars Eddie Murphy.

Eddie Murphy has been absent from his daughter Angel’s life since she was born three years ago. He even denied being her father when he found out Mel B was pregnant, but hopefully that is changing for the little girl.

It appears that Melanie and Eddie have put their fighting behind them. Mel appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of Shrek Forever After with her husband Stephen Belafonte as well as her daughters Phoenix, 11, and Angel, 3 and her stepdaughter Giselle,6.

Eddie Murphy stars in the movie Shrek as the voice of Donkey. He also walked the red carpet at the premieer and although he was not photographed with Mel or Angel he was seen with his seven older children from previous relationships. Eddie appeared along his kids, Bria and Eric, 21, Christian, 20, Miles, 18, Shayne, 16, Zola, 11, and Bella, 8.

Apparently Eddie’s ex wife Nicole Mitchell encouraged him to make amends with Melanie so that he could have a part in his daughter’s life. Mitchell has five children with Eddie and wanted her kids to know their half sister.

The two have just started to reconcile this month after Murphy invited Melanie to a party at his home.

Mel and Eddie dated back in 2006, only two months after Eddie and Nicole divorced. The actor called off the relationship when Melanie was five months pregnant and asked for a paternity test for Angel. While Mel was pregnant, Eddie told a reporter who asked about Mel and the baby, “You’re being presumptuous, because we’re not together anymore. And I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir.”

Two months after Angel was born a DNA test proved that Eddie was in fact her father yet he took no part in her life. Earlier this Melanie said, “I have full custody of Angel and that’s about it. He (Eddie) doesn’t see her, doesn’t want to see her. That’s just the way it is. She’s very content. She doesn’t know any different.”
