Former ‘NSync Singer Joey Fatone Welcomes Second Daughter

After a rough pregnancy filled with medical complications Joey Fatone and his wife Kelly have welcomed another healthy daughter.

Kloey Alexandra Fatone arrived on Monday, January 11 in Orlando, FL. The little girl who was born two weeks early weighed in at 5lbs 8oz.

“Kloey’s so small,” notes Joey. “She looks like a little doll. But she’s healthy and doing just fine.”

Shortly after finding out she was pregnant Kelly started suffering from chronic fatigue. “She was so tired, just exhausted all the time,” Joey says of his wife of five years. “We took her to the doctors, and they found blood clots in her lungs. It was life and death.”

Kelly spent 12 days in the hospital where she was diagnosed with rare a genetic condition called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR). Not only is MTHFR life threatening to the mother it also increases the chances that a baby will be born with a genetic disorder like Down’s Syndrome.

Fatone says that his wife took it easy during the rest of her pregnancy but last week she started getting a rapid heartbeat and fainting spells. Her dcotors decided to induce labor two weeks before her due date.

Joey told PEOPLE that right now, “The blood clots have broken up, Kelly’s doing fine and Kloey is awesome.”

As for Kloey’s name? He says that Kloey comes from his and Kelly’s name while Alexandra was chosen by his 8-year-old daughter Brianna.

“I’m thrilled,” Joey says. “I’m just so happy that everyone’s healthy.”
