John Travolta Makes His First Talk Show Apperance Since the Death of His Son and is Flooded with Emotions

John Travolta made his first talk show appearance since the passing of his son on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and broke down crying when talking about the messages of support his family has received after his son’s tragic death.

The actor was accompanied by his 9-year-old daughter Ella Bleu on the talk show. Ella stars with her dad in the upcoming Disney film Old Dogs, which is why she has been making appearances with both her mom (Kelly Preston who also appears in the movie) and dad for the movie.

Travolta made his appreciation known when he said, “I just want to take one moment to thank each and every one of you throughout this country, throughout the world, for all your support and all your love for our family. Thank you very much.”

John says that he has so much pride in his daughter and said, “I’m holding back the tears.” Ellen replied back, “No, really you’re not,” and handed the actor a box of tissues.

Travolta, who is a Scientologist, said that the church has helped him with grief counseling to help him with the death of his son. The actor also says that he has taken up tennis to keep his mind off of things and that he plays everyday, even in the dead of the night.

He said, “I play at midnight, kind of vampire-style with members of our staff. The house manager and the house maintenance person. At midnight, we go to the local tennis court.”

Jett died back in January after suffering from a fatal seizure while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. He was only 16 years old.
