Baby Delivered To Woman Shot Dead

Doctors late Thursday delivered the baby of a pregnant woman who was fatally shot after an argument at a home outside Coolidge, authorities said.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said 21-year-old Angel Bollinger, who was seven months pregnant, was shot about 10:30 p.m. in the Desert Beach subdivision in an unincorporated area of Pinal County.

Also shot and injured was her boyfriend, Harvey Rushing Jr., 23.
Deputies arrested Ronald Thompson, 31. Authorities believe Thompson had a disagreement with the couple before gunfire broke out, but no further details were released.

Bollinger and Rushing reportedly got into a car afterward and drove about a mile to the Gallopin’ Goose Saloon, where workers alerted authorities and tried to provide aid.

Saundra Jones, owner of the Gallopin’ Goose, said the bar’s cook was outside after his shift when the couple pulled up. Jones said the cook tried to help them and told the bartender to call 911.

“He heard the gunfire because it is such a small, quiet town,” Jones said. “It only happened about a mile or so down the road.”

Jones said Bollinger appeared to have gunshot wounds to her back but was still alive when the couple arrived.

Bollinger, who was 16 days shy of her 22nd birthday, died outside the bar.

Her baby was delivered at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center and then transferred to a hospital in Maricopa County.

Rushing was in stable condition Friday at a Valley hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.

Pinal County detectives are still investigating the case.
