Florida Sheriff Describes Baby Crime Scene Photos as Horrific
November 5, 2009 by Cathy Ribble

When five-month-old Chauntasia Gardner was found dead by police on Sunday, she only weighed six pounds. That weight is less than half of the normal weight for an infant that age. Her parents starved Chauntasia to death.
The parents, 25-year old Tivasha Logan and 27-year-old Chauncey Gardner, are charged with murder and aggravated child abuse. They are being held without bond.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters, “I don’t think you can imagine what EMS crews and deputies saw Sunday morning.” He described crime scene photos of the baby as “horrific.”
Evidence of the child’s malnutrition was overwhelming. Her tiny body was emaciated with bones protruding. A single can of Enfamil baby formula was found in the home with only a tiny amount of formula remaining in the can.
The mother reported to authorities that Chauntasia was fed two ounces of baby formula every three to three and one-half hours. Logan said she mixed one-half ounce of formula with one and one-half ounces of water. She went on to say she mixed it that way because Gardner told her that was the instructions on the can. She said she had never read the directions herself.
Logan admitted that she had noticed the baby was losing weight at least two weeks ago and that she should have taken the baby to the hospital. She didn’t do that though because she thought she would get in trouble.
Five other children lived in the home, and they have been taken into custody by authorities. Investigators are puzzled because the other children appeared healthy. There was plenty of food in the cupboards, except for infant formula.
“This just rips your heart out. This was a thriving baby girl who is now dead.” Sheriff Judd said he had never seen anything like it.
The parents did not understand why they were being charged. According to the Arrest Affidavit, the family received SSI benefits, food stamps and WIC. The mother told authorities that she had tried to make a doctor’s appointment for the baby several times, but had difficulty locating a doctor who would accept the Medicaid payment.

Nadya Suleman Comtemplating Applying For Federal Assistance For Her Babies
Octomom is seriously considering applying for government aid so she can support her 8 babies along with her other 6 children.
As soon as the story of Nadya Suleman made headlines, everyone was talking about how she would be on government assistance in no time. Well it appears that this may soon be the case. Nadya, also known as Octomom, gave birth to 8 babies in January. These 8 babies join the 6 she already had. Worst of all Nadya is a single mom who doesn’t have a job.
Suleman told the The Whittier Daily News, that “If I need to apply for (the Women, Infants and Children program) to provide my babies with formula, then I’m going to.”
The WIC program provides food, health care, and nutrition education for women and children who live on low incomes, under the poverty level. Under this program, Suleman would be eligible to buy formula, milk, cheese, and other essential foods for her children up to 5 years old.
According to Suleman she is no longer on food stamps, but her kids are still on Medi-Cal, which pays for medical services for children in the state of California.
Among these rumors that Nadya can’t support her children, she has been seen going out to eat at restuarants and going to the spa to get manicures done.

The decision to give birth again recently without the finances to support more children has caused public outrage. Nadya birthed six boys and two girls on January 26th 2009.
Press claims that she had undergone plastic surgery to look like actress Angelina Jolie. Nadya Suleman refuted these claims in an interview to The Sun:
“It’s weird, my face always swells up before and after I have children,” she insisted. “I’m 5ft 6in and normally weigh about 8 1/2 stones, but my weight doubled to 17 1/2 stones when I was pregnant with the octuplets.”
When asked about her love life. Nadya will not start dating again until her babies are 18. David Soloman was named the sperm donor recently. She admits to going on one date with him before realizing she wanted him to father her children without a relationship:
“I can’t remember the last time I went on a date.
“Boyfriends? I think I’d have to be extremely selfish. I cannot maintain a social life and be a mother.
“To even take one per cent of every night and devote it to someone else, a stranger, would be wrong.
“I have to wait for that until my youngest have left school. I can’t leave someone else trying to care for my kids while I date.”
Miss Suleman – who is claiming the equivalent of £350 a month in food stamps, and government benefits for her three disabled children.
She said that hostilities had forced her to go into hiding after being discharged from hospital.
The Beverly Hills doctor that aided Miss Suleman conceive the octuplets is being investigated by regulatory bodies.
