GMTV weather girl Clare Nasir, 39, is delighted to announce the birth of her baby girl, named Sienna.

Clare Nasir gave birth to baby Sienna Clare Nasir Hawkins yesterday morning at 9.42am. Sienna, Weighing 4lb 1oz, is in the special baby care unit of a London hospital.

The pregnancy was dubbed a miracle because Clare - who has been GMTV’s weather producer and presenter since 2000 - was diagnosed with fibroid growths in her uterus in 2001, which threatened her fertility.

Clare said: “Chris and I are overjoyed,”

“Sienna was born 7 weeks premature and will be in the unit for a few weeks while Doctors monitor her progress. She`s just beautiful and has her father`s good looks!”

“It was an incredibly hard pregnancy,” she continued. “And we are so happy that our miracle baby is here.”

Clare is married to BBC radio DJ Chris Hawkins.

After two years of fertility treatment and being treated for severe fibroids, Clare is expecting her first child, in what she is calling a “miracle” baby.

Eight years after suffering from severe fibroids in her uterus, GMTV weather girlis expecting her first child with her husband, music DJ Chris Hawkins. Nasir was able to have surgery to have her fibroids removed, but doctors told her that she may never be able to have a child now. Apparently that did not stop her from trying to conceive a child, as she has been undergoing fertility treatments for the past two years and is now expecting a baby due on New Years Eve.

Clare released a statement saying, “It’s a miracle - after having had fertility treatment for the last two years, we were giving up hope, we are overjoyed at the news.”

Clare has been the weather girl for GMTV since 2000. When her stomach began to swell in 2001, viewers actually wrote in to congratulate her on her pregnancy. She told Daily Mail, “My fibroids grew so large they distended my abdomen and I looked pregnant. Colleagues congratulated me, and viewers would send me letters asking when the baby was due. I was all too aware of the bitter irony: having fibroids might stop me ever carrying a baby to full term.”

In 2002 she had surgery to shrink the fibroids but was warned by her doctors that she may not be able to conceive a child.

There is no word on when she will take her maternity leave.
