Coleen Rooney Dishes on Wayne’s Fathering and How She is Handling Motherhood

Wayne Rooney is most known for his football skills on the field, but it appears that he is also quite the family man.

In a recent interview with Hello! magazine, Coleen Rooney dishes on the birth of her son Kai and how Wayne is doing with fatherhood.

Coleen says that Wayne broke down in tears when his son Kai was born last November. She says, “Wayne just filled up - I think he was in shock about the whole situation.”

Wayne, of course, was not the only person crying. Coleen adds, “I started crying the moment they put him skin-to-skin on me and he looked up and was staring at me.”

She also reveals that Wayne was there for the entire labor and birth and even slept on the hospital floor. He was right there holding her hand while she was giving birth.

As for being a father now, Coleen says, “He’s a natural with the baby. Wayne is so patient and that is especially good. He likes to be involved. He doesn’t really change the nappies because I’m always around, but he feeds him and he puts him to sleep.”

Coleen adds, “I think he’s looking forward to his little boy starting to run around and start speaking so they can bond even more.”

Rooney says that although motherhood has “come naturally” to her it has definitely changed all aspects of her life. “When I used to go on holiday I’d just sit on the sun-lounger and not move, because I love spending time in the sun, but now I’m up and down keeping Kai entertained, ” she says.

Coleen recently took Kai on his first holiday to Barbados and says, “it was so different to any holiday I’ve even had before because you’ve got someone else to look after.”

She also reveals that she is not in a big hurry to get her pre-pregnancy figure back. She says, “I’ve still got a bit of a belly - it’s getting there, but you can’t do it too fast and to be honest I’m not too bothered about it as that’s part and parcel of pregnancy.”

Kai is the first child for Coleen and Wayne.
