Stone Temple Pilots Frontman Scott Weiland Got a Massage While Wife Was in Labor

Scott Weiland reveals that while his ex-wife was in labor, he received his very own massage and doesn’t see anything wrong with it.

The Stone Temple Pilots frontman recently opened up to Details magazine about his life and revealed that while his ex-wife Mary Forsberg was in labor with their child, he decided that he needed a massage. When asked if he thought it was out of line, he replied, “What do you mean? I was incredibly stressed-out. She was having contractions and that was tripping me out, so I called up our friend and she gave me a massage. I laid out right next to where Mary was.”

This incident was first revealed in Weiland’s memoir ‘Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Mental Illness’ which was released last year.

Scott revealed that, “No one I’ve ever talked to thought [the massage] was weird. It’s incredibly stressful when the person you love is having a child. And I was sober at that time, so I needed something to take the edge off.”

Weiland has had an on-again-off-again relationship with drugs for many years and says that although he still drinks he is drug-free. He notes that his kids help him to stay sober now. “Heroin made me feel all right in my own skin,” he stated. “Before I did it, I was uncomfortable going into crowds, which is interesting given my profession. But when I did dope, the fear went away. That’s why I hung on to it so long. But my kids fill up that hole now.”
