Second ‘pregnant man’ in world to give birth next month

Scott Moore, the world’s second ‘pregnant man’, is expecting his first baby next month with his transgender husband.

Scott Moore, 30, and his partner, Thomas, have a somewhat unique arrangement. Legally married to each other in California, they are expecting their first child, Miles, next month.

Both Scott and Thomas were born female but have since had gender reassignment surgery.

Scott, born as a female named Jessica, said he knew he wanted to be a man around the age of eleven.

“I was always a tomboy but when I started to develop breasts, I realized I’d been born in the wrong body,” Scott Moore told the Telegraph.

“When I told my family, they thought I was crazy, but they gradually realized I was serious and allowed me to start taking male hormones when I was 16 years old.”

Later, his parents paid to have his breasts removed. However, he couldn’t afford to have a complete surgery, leaving Scott Moore’s female reproductive system intact.

“I opted not to have a penis because I couldn’t afford it, and I didn’t think the results were very good. It had nothing to do with wanting children because back then I didn’t think I’d ever have them.”

His partner, Thomas, also age 30, was born as Laura. Thomas said that he knew he was meant to be a male as early as age four. At the age of 19, he began hormone replacement and in 2004, he had his breasts removed, a hysterectomy performed, and a penis attached.

The couple is legally married in California, primarily because Scott is still listed as a female on his birth certificate. They also live with sons Logan, 10, and Greg, 12, from a previous relationship Thomas had with a woman.

“We know some people will criticize us, but we are blissfully happy and not ashamed,” Scott Moore told the Daily Mail about the couple’s situation.

Thomas added, “We want to show the world that trans-families can be healthy, loving and nurturing.”
