Natasha Hamilton Pregnant with Third Child

The former Atomic Kitten will have a “flying double” when performing as Peter Pan in the play at Empire Theater.

After signing on to play Peter Pan, Natasha Hamilton learned that she was 3 months pregnant and therefore was grounded from any flying scenes. Instead Joanna McShane will be here flying double and will do all the flying stints for the play.

Natasha, who already has two sons, said, “I was really looking forward to flying but obviously because of health and safety issues I can’t.”

She added, “Everyone has been really supportive of my decision and we’ve found someone who’s a professional flier. Hopefully it will be seamless and because I won’t need to hook and unhook myself from the wire the story will actually flow faster.”

Natasha is performing Peter Pan along with former Happy Days actor Henry Winkler who will play Captain Hook. The two have some pretty complicated sword fights and the singer says, “learning sword fighting has been like a cross between martial arts and gymnastics. It looks amazing, like Zorro or Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Kevin Wood, chief executive of panto company First Family says, “Natasha is able to perform the role in its entirety save for the flying. She’s thrown herself into the role and is proving to be a brilliant Peter Pan and in the meantime we’ve engaged Joanna McShane, an experienced flyer, to act as her substitute during those sections. I’m sure it will in no way diminish the impact of Natasha’s performance nor the experience of the thousands of people who are coming to see the show.”

This is the third child for Natasha but the first with her husband Riad Erraji. The couple married in November 2007. She has two boys from previous relationships: Josh,7 with her ex-boyfriend Fran Cosgrove and Harry,4, with Gavin Hatcher.

Last year Natasha suffered a miscarriage and said at the time, “I was only in the early stages, about seven weeks. Of course, as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, you start to build a picture in your head. I know you’re not supposed to but you think of your future with that baby, and when that doesn’t happen it’s very hard to deal with. I think it’s something that’s always going to stay with you but it makes your realise how precious life is. I look at my boys and I thank my lucky stars for them.”

The singer is three months along and is due next spring.
