Courtney Love Loses Custody of Her 17 Year Old Daughter Frances Bean

Courtney Love has once again lost legal guardianship of her daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

Frances Bean, who is the daughter of the late Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, will be living with her grandmother (Kurt’s mother) and aunt (Kurt’s sister). Documents that were filed in the Loas Angeles court system shows that Courtney Love will no longer be the teen’s legal guardian. The documents state that Wendy O’Connor, Kurt’s mother, and Kimberly Dawn Cobain, his sister are to “provide for temporary care, maintenance and support’ and ‘protect property from loss or injury, ” for Frances who turns 18 next year.

A lawyer for Courtney Love has denied that the singer has fallen off track and is back to drinking and drugs. According to the lawyer, Frances simply prefers living with her grandmother right now. Her lawyer said, ‘Frances is 17 and a strong-willed child, and this is a decision she made on her own.’

Frances is the heir to almost the entire Kurt Cobain estate. When she turns 18 she will access to all the money that goes with the estate.

This is not the first time that Courtney has lost custody of her daughter. In fact, Frances spend more time living with her grandmother than with her mother.

Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994 when Frances was only 2 years old.

Despite Courtney’s wild behavior and past with drugs, she insists that she is a good mother. Just last year Frances told Harpers Bazaar that she did not want to live in the shadow of her parents. She is not her parents and is her own person.
