Coleen and Wayne Rooney Name Son Kai Wayne
Coleen has given birth to her first child, a son whom the couple has decided to name Kai Wayne Rooney.
The name Kai has Scandinavian origins and means “rejoice” in Finnish. In Japanese Kai means “the earth” while in Hawaiian it means “the sea.”
The name has been slowly rising in popularity since the 1990’s. An uncommon first name for men but a very common last name for both men and women (#25480 out of 88799). (1990 U.S. Census)
Coleen and Wayne had kept the sex of the baby a surprise.
Coleen is expected to leave the hospital tomorrow and will start her life at home being a first time mum.

“Kai” as a male name is shortened from Caius, and it really is quite a common name here in Finland.
But: in Finnish the “kai” means maybe or probably, which isn’t very near to joy or rejoice (if I understood those words correctly)…
