Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm Talks About Motherhood
In her first television interview since giving birth to her 7-month-old daughter Scarlet, the singer talks about what motherhood is really like.
Melanie Chisholm calls motherhood, “wonderful, incredible, and very difficult.”
Melanie revealed that Scarlet is teething right now, but it doesn’t even compare to the “early days” right after giving birth to her daughter. She says those days were “just so exhausting,” and “really, really hard.”
She added, “It’s a real shock to the system, and even though people try to prepare you…Friends who’ve had children and your parents … You don’t know until it actually happens to you.”
On the lighter side, Melanie says that Scarlet is a “real character” and motherhood is rewarding and “so much fun.” Chisholm noted, “We have our bedtime routine, we like reading our books…She’s just stopped eating them so that’s good.”
Scarlet is the first child for Melanie and her partner Thomas Starr.
