Maggie Gyllenhaal Says Daughter Gets Homesick
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has spent the last 4 months in London filming her latest movie Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, and although her 3-year-old daughter loves London, she does get homesick for Brooklyn.
Maggie Gyllenhaal says as her 3-year-old daughter Ramona gets older it is betting harder and harder for her to just pick up and move to film a movie somewhere else.
She told, The Telegraph:
“When you’re pregnant, people love giving advice. And the advice that I have the most disdain for is, ‘Oh, kids are so adaptable. Just throw them on your back and take them wherever you want. They will manage.’ I brought my daughter to London for four months and she is happy here, we have had a great time here, but she wakes up in the morning and says, ‘Momma, I miss Brooklyn.’ I think, yes, it is hard to be two and all of a sudden be in a totally new place. It’s very different to being 31 and doing that. The thing is, children are adaptable. They will manage, I believe, but always at a cost.”
Ramona is the only child for Maggie and her husband Peter Sarsgaard.
