Fears That Katie Price May Lose Custody Of Her Children

Katie Price has been in crisis talks with her mother this weekend to try and smooth things out in the media.
The glamour model Jordan has admitted for the first time that she has not treated her estranged husband Peter Andre fairly.
Price, 31, has recently been in the media spotlight following her antics in Ibiza. She has revealed that she had been ‘trying to shove things in his face and make him feel jealous’.
The model was photographed drunk leaving nightclubs with male models, while Andre holidayed with Harvey (7), Junior (4) and Princess Tiaamii (1) in Cyprus.
She has promised to sort herself out, and told News of the World:
‘I’m still so angry with what he’s done and I’m not going to take back what I’ve said about him. But I do understand now that this is hard on him too,’
‘I want people to look at me as a good mum for my kids but I’ve been having the biggest crisis of my personal life ever, so it’s been hard.’
It is believed that her mother Amy has been angry at Katie’s recent behaviour on holiday, and that she fears that Andre may win custody of the children.
Friends of the glamour model believe that Peter’s advisors were deliberately trying to make Price look bad.
Andre is said to be upset after hearing that Katie did not attend sports day at Harvey’s school as she was worried that other parents would be gossiping. She had told the school that Harvey was too ill to attend.
A friend of Price said: ‘Jordan couldn’t deal with all the attention she would get at Harvey’s school,’
‘She’s had a real hard time of it recently in the press and she’s keen to keep a low profile.’
Instead, Price was pictured taking Harvey to the stables to her horses.
Although Harvey is not Andre’s biological son, he has a close relationship with the boy and hopes to stay in touch. He moved into a new home this weekend in Hove, East Sussex. It is believed that the Australian singer will fight for custody of the children.

Could Jennifer Ellison Be Pregnant?

Pictures of Jennifer’s fiance rubbing his hand over her belly have sparked rumors that she is expecting a baby.
Pictures are worth a thousand words and the pictures of Rob Tickle placing his hand over Jennifer Ellison’s stomach are fueling rumors of a possible baby on the way. The couple took a boat ride to London’s O2 Arena and both of them were pictured rubbing their hands over Jennifer’s stomach. Could it be possible that Jennifer found out she was expecting?
Also, Jennifer was not in her usual skimpy outfits. She was wearing a black, over-sized jumpsuit.
The couple got engaged last October in the Maldives, but have delayed planning a wedding due to Jennifer’s busy schedule.
Jennifer has said in the past that she wants to start a family soon after marrying Rob. She said, “Rob’s been very patient. He knows I want to give the fame school 110 per cent, so it’s our priority to get the school up and running, get married and then straight after that we want to start a family.”
A spokesperson for the star has refused to comment on the pregnancy rumors.

Singer Jill Scott Talks About Life After Baby

Singer/actress Jill Scott talked to Essence magazine about the struggles of motherhood and how things are after having her son Jett Hamilton.
Jill Scott is a new mother and also newly single. Shortly after having her son, her fiance Lil John Roberts called of their engagement. She told the magazine, “He was there and for a couple of days afterwards while I stayed in the hospital, but John and I are no longer together. When you have a baby you’re dealing with a lot of emotions and I don’t know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens.”
She did add that the two of them are both there for their son. “We definitely love our son and we are co-parenting and working on being friends. I have hopes for [Jett] and I’m sure his father will do his part as well.”
Jill, who was also raised in a single mother household said that she relies on her girlfriends actress Mo’Nique and singer Erykah Badu for support. She said, “My heart and prayers go out to all single moms because it’s tough, and I can’t imagine any teenager dealing with a baby and all those hormones raging. I can afford to have this child at 37 because I have a support system and I can talk to my girls … but I don’t understand how any mother does it alone.”
The singer also shared that the birth of her son was definitely not a picture-perfect, smooth delivery. She stated, “I know my experience isn’t everyone’s but I believe people need to be realistic when sharing their stories about their pregnancies and births.”
Her labor was 36 hours long and was so painful that she would mentally check out for moments at a time. “During labor I felt like I needed to put the fire out,” she recalls. “Everybody kept telling me the pain wasn’t going to last forever, but after 20 hours of it, I left the building. I felt like I was on the ceiling, looking down at myself like, ‘[Dang], girl, you still in labor?’” She also added that the pain did not go away right away and lasted “three weeks.”
Despite the rough labor and being a single mother, Jill Scott is not giving up on the thought of having more children in the future. “I truly loved being pregnant and feeling what was going on inside my body and watching it change,” she says. “It’s difficult to recoup, but still amazing nonetheless. I would have another one.”
Stress At Work Can Cause Low Birth Weight

Women who have more stress at work during the first trimester of pregnancy may be more likely to have a low birth weight baby.
The study looked at 8266 pregnant Dutch women, and found a link between the amount of stress the women reported and the birth weight.
Babies were seen to be 2.5 oz lighter on average, with a 50 percent higher chance of having a small for gestational age baby.
Women who worked 32 hours or more were seen to be at higher risk, with babies being on average more than 5 oz lighter.
One suggestion is that the higher levels of stress hormones, such as cortical and nor epinephrine, can effect fetal growth in the first months of pregnancy.
The study found that working during pregnancy only had an effect if there was stress involved, which effected 4 percent of the women in the study.
Researchers have advised women to consider reducing their workload early on if they feel under stress.
Mothers Are Armed With Technology
According to a survey carried out by Babycenter, mothers are now using social-networking tools more than ever in the last three years.
Over 25,000 mothers responded to the survey, with 63 percent admitting that they used Facebook, Twitter and blogs. This compares to just 11 percent of mothers in 2006.
Almost a third of the mothers also said that they used the Internet more after giving birth. Around 44 percent of the woman said that they regularly watched TV before the birth, but this fell to 7 percent after the baby arrived.
Mothers were also found to be more likely to visit sites which were focused around parenthood and children than on mainstream sites such as Facebook. Over 68 percent of mothers said they would visit sites such as Babycenter, CafeMom and Babychums.
One of the main reasons mothers gave for using social networking more was to connect with other parents online.
Tina Sharkey, chairman of BabyCenter, said “Participating in social media as a mom is not the same as hooking up with your camp friends,”
“It’s about finding the moms who can really support your journey.”
Sharkey then gave an example of the responses people gave on different sites. When asked how to tell your child the truth about the tooth fairy, responses on sites such as Facebook were more sarcastic: “What do you mean? There is no tooth fairy? Wait a minute, I was never told about this.”
On parenting sites, responses were often given using real life past experience, such as: “As they get older and go to school, they figure it out on their own”
High numbers of mothers were also found to use smart phones (36% own), PDAs (16%) and mobile phones - with 91 percent saying that they would never leave home without one.
Mothers are also more likely to use digital cameras or home videos to record their family memories. Around 93 percent own a digital camera, and 15 percent have a blog about their family.
More Baby Time Costs Natasha Kaplinsky £300,000

Natasha Kaplinsky, 36, has agreed to a £300,000 pay cut to spend more time with her baby. Her £1 million pay packet will be cut by almost one third.
The UK, “Five News” anchor will let go of her 7pm bulletin, taking a £300,000 pay cut.
Natasha Kaplinsky’s baby Arlo was born eight months ago and she returned to work in February under the agreement that she would do the 5pm news but skip the later slot for a few months.
Now she plans to make the arrangement permanent with Five preparing to revamp its schedule with a new “poppy” early evening show aimed at younger viewers.
A source said of Kaplinsky: “She knows that she will not keep her big salary and she is not worried about that. It’s about getting the right work-life balance.”
Kaplinsky, who is married to banker Justin Bower and has been nicknamed “Spangles” for her highgloss, high-glamour image, announced she was pregnant in April last year, six weeks after her debut on Five News.
Last month she spoke out about being a working mother with a baby. She said: “I wish I were one of those people who didn’t have to sleep at all, because there’s always so much happening. I’ve always been excited to get up and do all the things I haven’t managed the day before.
“But all that’s on hold now, as my life has been taken over by a small person who requires a lot of attention and waiting on.”
“I thought those three and a half years of early shifts for breakfast TV - waking at 3.20am - would be great training for having a baby,” she said.
“Getting up for a bulletin is one thing, but getting up for a baby who gives me constant bulletins is another.”
Five has launched a hunt for new presenters to join the 7pm team.
