Phil Collins becomes a Grandfather as daughter Joely Collins becomes a mum

For the first time 58-year-old Phil Collins has become a Grandfather.

37-year-old daughter Joely Collins had given birth to daughter Zoë Amelie, her first child with husband Stefan Buitelaar, on October 26 and the musician flew to Canada late last month to see the new addition.

Phil said about the first time he set eyes on baby Zoe: “Life has gone to a new level for me.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and I’m so happy for Joely and Stefan. They are truly happy.”

Joely Collins, an actress who was adopted by Phil and then-wife Andrea Bertorelli in 1975, also spoke about her new daughter: ‘Stefan and I feel truly blessed to have Zoë in our lives. She is a very happy, beautiful little girl.’

After Phil and Andrea’s marriage broke down five years later, former Genesis star Phil went on to marry Jill Taverman, with whom he had a daughter called Lily.

He later had two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, with his third wife Orianne Cevey.

Phil also has a son called Simon with Joely’s mum Andrea.

Phil’s new Motown album, set for release next year, is expected to be a 2CD collection featuring up to 30 classic tracks.
