Micro pig

The micro pig which stands at only 14 inches tall, has become almost impossible to get hold of in the UK.

Jane Croft, 42, who breeds them from Little Pig Farm in Cambridgeshire said, “Demand for micro pigs is soaring and we are inundated with inquiries every day”

Clean and quiet they have become popular among celebrities, such as Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.

Micro pigs are far smaller than a normal farm pig and weigh 9oz, about the size of a tea cup from birth, are fully grown at two years old and can live up to 18 years.

The Little Pig farm has been getting thousands of hits a week and and the phone rings 40 times a day.

The pigs are crosses of Miniature Pot Bellied pigs with Tamworths, Kune Kunes and Gloucester Old Spots to create their tiny, colourful Micro Pigs, which are sold for between £195 and £700.

Simon Pegg, who’s wife Maureen is currently five months pregnant will be moving to the United States, which makes him hopeful that his child could be president one day since it will be an American citizen.

The actor and his wife Maureen are moving to the United States so he can film his latest movie here. This means that their baby will be born in the US, making it eligible to be the president of the United States.

Pegg said, “We’re going to have an American baby. It wasn’t necessarily what we wanted. The only good thing is that our baby could be President one day.”

For the short term, the daddy-to-be is looking forward to spending time with his baby, reading books and playing. He told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine,

“When you’ve got a baby you’re going to have to be a bit of a dad. I’m looking forward to all that. Whether it’s a boy or girl, I can’t wait to introduce them to various films, watching ‘Star Wars’ for the first time, reading ‘Harry Potter’ for the first time.”
