Sid the Science Kid and Elmo Join Forces Against H1N1

Sid the Science kid and Sesame Street’s Elmo have joined forces with federal authorities this year to teach children and parents about H1N1 flu prevention. The plan-of-attack includes speaking to children about the subject on their level.
Parents heading out with their children H1N1 vaccinations may first want to spend a few minutes with Sid the Science Kid.
Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit education organization behind Sesame Street, and they were one of the first nonprofit organizations to join forces with the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education to urge families to be proactive in preventing the spread of H1N1 and the regular seasonal flu virus.
Sesame Street has launched a number of animated public service announcements in which Elmo talks about flu prevention and staying healthy. A number of those PSAs are available for viewing on You Tube. Some favorites are listed below on the topics of planning for flu, learning how to properly sneeze and correctly washing your hands.
