Elisabeth Hasselbeck Dishes On Pregnancy The Third Time Around
The View co-host is getting ready for the arrival of her third child with her husband Tim Hasselbeck.
No one was more surpised about Elisabeth’s pregnancy than her and her husband. Elisabeth did not find out that she was pregnant until she was already two months into the pregnancy and then realized why she was tired all the time. She told Entertainment Tonight, “It was shocking, but a good shock. Certainly, you can only plan so much in life.” Elisabeth and Tim already have two children, 4-year-old Grace and 19-month-old Taylor.
Hasselbeck also says that pregnancy the third time around is quite different and that there is no “pampering” involved. “Oh you’re pregnant and isn’t this special’ — that all happens with pregnancy number one. After that you’re too busy, you don’t even realize you’re actually pregnant,” she laughs. “It’s not as, shall I say, pampered the third time around.”
Even though she sometimes forgets that she is pregnant, her body doesn’t and her cravings are definitely there with this pregnancy. She revealed, “I did the cha cha cha diet: chips, chocolate, and cheese straight through, that works for me.”
Although she does indulge during her pregnancy, she says that she buckles down right away to lose the baby weight. After she had her 19-month-old son Taylor, people kept asking her how she lost the weight so fast. Her answer:
“I did not lose the weight. I know exactly where every pound is in Central Park that I ran off. I can point to a staircase and say, ‘I ran those thirty times … flight after flight.’ They’re not lost, they’re still waiting for me to find them one day, I’m sure.”
Elisabeth is due on August 11th and her husband is set to be a NFL analyst for ESPN, so her postpartum life may be fore difficult than she cares to have. Her solution is to call in her family and friends for help. She says, “I’ve already booked out our moms for August. ‘Hey Mom, you’re coming here [and] Betsy, you’re coming on August whatever. I have the moms on call because I honestly could not get through that period after [the baby arrives]. It’s hard for me after. I wish it were easy, I’d have 12!”
The talks show co-host also says that she does have mommy guilt over being a working mother, but bringing her children to The View with her makes her feel better. She says, “I bring my kids to work sometimes and it’s really fun.” She also says that both of her children get along great with the other co-hosts on the show.
Elisabeth and her husband joke that her delivery will be no secret to her Twitter followers. She says, “I’ll be tweeting probably right through birth. Tim asked me, ‘Are you going to tweet through birth?’ I might let people know what’s going on … my screams for help should be heard across the globe!”
