Passenger Abandons Baby On Plane After Giving Birth
New Zealand police are investigating reports that a passenger abandoned her baby minutes after giving birth during an international flight from Samoa.
It is unclear whether the mother tried to return for the newborn baby, which was discovered by crew members after the plane landed in Auckland.
The Pacific Blue airline told press “a female guest gave birth on board our flight DJ94 from (the Samoan capital) Apia to Auckland this morning.”
It is unknown if other travellers and the airport staff on the flight noticed that the lady was in labour.
Both mother and baby are in good condition and have been reunited.
Police are looking into whether the airline was aware of the mothers stage of pregnancy.
