Marge Simpson, the cartoon character, is the feature female on the front cover of November’s Playboy magazine.
The November, “Marge” edition Playboy, carrying an interview headlined, “The Devil In Marge Simpson” is in honour of the 20th anniversary of the The Simpsons. Founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1953, by Hugh Hefner and his associates was funded in part by a $1,000 loan from Hefner’s mother
Marge will not be completely nude.
Ironically named Scott Flanders, Playboy’s new CEO and no relation to Ned Flanders, (The devout Christian neighbour of the Simpsons) said the idea is to attract readers in their 20s to the magazine.
In an interview with The Chicago Sun-Times Flanders said of the November issue cover: “obviously somewhat tongue-in-cheek. It had never been done, and we thought it would be kind of hip, cool and unusual.”
The Simpsons has won 24 Emmys and is the longest running animated series on prime time. A full-length feature film in 2007 made more than $527 million worldwide. The series is a satirical parody of a middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its eponymous family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional city of Springfield, and lampoons American culture, society, television and many aspects of the human condition.
The new Playgirl Marge Simpson follows in the footsteps of other celebrities including Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson and Marilyn Monroe.

That’s just silly. In all honesty, who needs Playboy when it’s all on the telly and web for free?
