Firefighters Deliver “Rush Hour” Baby
A baby born at the side of Interstate 80 on Monday morning has been called “The Rush Hour Baby” by firefighters in Omaha.
Patricia and Juan Salas were on their way to Bergan Mercy Medical Center when their fifth child decided to make an appearance.
Fire-fighter Brad Philippi said: “It was no surprise, not their first rodeo,”
“They’ve done this before — obviously not in a vehicle on the side of the road.”
The baby boy, who was described as blue-skinned when fire-fighters arrived at the scene, soon turned more pink when provided with some oxygen.
Brian Jones, one of the fire-fighters, said “It wasn’t as big of deal as I thought it would be, but I’ll let the docs do it next time,”
The boy has been named Brian by the family.
