Five babies in China have died from Hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) this week.
The babies, all from Heze City in east China’s Shandong Province, included four boys and a one-year-old girl.
Over this year, 1,734 cases of HFMD have been reported in Heze City, with 440 cases being reported on Friday alone.
