How did you meet your significant other?

 Me and my hubby met through his brother that use to be married to my friend. I was over there house when my hubby showed up to visit his brother and we just hit it off and have been together ever since.

my story pretty boring really, we met 6th october 2001 at a nightclub in portsmouth, and he approached me, never looked back since! oh and he proposed 2 days later!

I only went for a pint of milk for my mum, to our local newsagents, and met my  husband to be working in his parents shop.

And that was 12 years ago.

Well..

We essentially met through the internet.. When I was at University I was a regular user or IRC (Internet Relay Chat).  I used to go on 2 channels called #freeteens and #shadowlands - we all did regular meet ups and I still have many of those people as friends (mostly In real life now) to this day.

My other half was initially going out with my university friend steph, also a regular on these IRC channels but we spoke as friends - they split up and I split with my then boyfriend and also lost my grandad so we got closer.

We quickly moved from chatting exclusively online to chatting online and on the telephone then we met up and well it all happened from there really. 

We were long distance for almost 18 months with me either travelling 180 miles down south to him or him travelling up to me every weekend (we only ever missed 5!).

We got engaged after 7 months but didn't marry till just over 2 years after we got engaged.

I know they always say be weary of meeting people off the net but we're proof that it can happen and be good ;oD 

We've been together 8 years this month and married for 5.5 years of that time.

He was a colleague of my ex but I knew hubby really well from various nights out. When me and ex split he helped me through it. I was at uni at the time and skint and Jonathan helped me financially. Finally got together 5th July 1997 - 10 years this year  married for 4.

I actually dialed the wrong number.  My boyfriend at the time and my NOW husband had very similiar #'s.  I dialed the wrong # because I was so angry! My boyfriend asked me to a party which turned out to be a drug fest, (STRIKE1). He got so stoned he literally passed out. (Strike 2) and I had to walk home.  It took me 2 hours. (STrIKE3).

The next  morning I called him up to cuss him out.  And I did.  But it turned out not to be my boyfriend but my current husband.  LOL

He was kind enough to talk to me.  I originally thought it was my BF trying to play it off.  Anyways, my hubby turned out to be my next door neighbor.

Dumped my druggie BF and married my husband.
