Minnesota Baby Weighs In At 15 Lbs., 6 Oz.

Wendi and Michael Dolton welcomed the birth of their son Axel LaVerne three weeks early at a whopping 15 pounds, 6 ounces. The Minnesota newborn will probably have a hard time losing the Thanksgiving nickname “butterball turkey” already tagged by his family.
Wendi first learned that her baby was approximately 11 pounds on November 11. She returned for a follow-up ultrasound on November 16 and the baby’s weight was up to 13 pounds. She was scheduled for amniocentesis to check the baby’s lung development, but when the doctors discovered Wendi’s blood pressure was elevated, they immediately took her downstairs for delivery.
Big babies seem to run in the genes for this family. Wendi was a 10-pound baby herself. Doctors had to break both of her shoulders to complete her delivery. Wendi has been diagnosed as borderline diabetic, but maintained her blood sugar levels throughout her pregnancy. She had been placed on a form of the diabetic medication glyburide, but the medication level was reduced during the last month of her pregnancy because Wendi’s blood sugar levels were dropping too low. She was experiencing shaking and sweating.
The average Minnesota baby weighs 7 pounds. Axel’s family was featured on the Weekend Today show, filming from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Axel’s big sisters were also large babies with Naomi weighing 9 pounds and Emma at 11 pounds.
The family is relieved their little “butterball” is finally out of the oven and will hopefully be home soon. Axel remains in the NICU, but is off oxygen. He has been getting breast milk through a feeding tube, but breastfeeding is being introduced. Best wishes to the happy family and here’s hoping and praying Axel is home soon!

Miss Smyth, now a mother of three, told a newspaper in Bournemouth: “She literally came flying out. It was the best birth I’ve had.
“It was horrible to see the umbilical cord but the nurses were so quick it was unbelievable.”
The baby arrived two weeks premature, weighing in at 6lb 7oz.

A Michigan father, Jamar Pinkney Sr, 37, is accused of killing his son after learning the 15-year-old teen may have sexually abused a 3-year-old toddler. The father played both judge, jury and executioner in this bizarre real life story.
Jamar Pinkney Sr was enraged after learning his teen son Jamar Pinkney Jr. had, “inappropriate contact” with a 3-year-old girl. Allegedly the father made his son strip at gunpoint and then shot him to death. A witness reported that both his son and wife pleaded with him to stop.
Authorities in Michigan filed a first-degree murder charge on Wednesday against Jamar Pinkney Sr.
Corbett O’Meara, the Defense attorney said:
“If something were to happen that would cause a reasonable person to lose control of himself, that is something the prosecution would have to take into account,”
Judge Brigette Officer entered a not guilty plea for Pinkney and ordered him jailed without bond until a preliminary examination Dec. 1.
The boy’s mother, Lazette Cherry, told the Detroit Free Press that her son told her he had improper sexual contact with the girl.
“I called and told his father. This isn’t something you sweep under the rug,” she said.
Police Chief Ted Caldwell said: “This is something that’s hard to deal with for all the parties concerned, including the police,”
‘Face’ of Michael Jackson found in baby’s ultrasound
November 19, 2009 by Shawn Douglas

A face that eerily resembles that of Michael Jackson was discovered when a couple reviewed the results of their unborn baby’s ultrasound.
Last month, Dawn Kelley went to Sunderland Royal Hospital to get her regularly scheduled 20-week ultrasound, but the doctors had some difficulty analyzing the results. Kelley was then sent to Grindon Lane Primary Care Centre to use the more powerful scanner, one that could more sharply focus on the internal organs of a fetus.
After obtaining the results, father-to-be, William Hickman, had his suspicions about the image.
“We were looking at the pictures again, and I just saw Jacko there,” said Hickman.
“I showed my daughter Ami, who’s six, and she saw it straight away, so I thought ‘well, if she can see it too it’s not just me seeing things.’”
“None of us are really Michael Jackson fans. I mean I like him, but we’re not crazy about him or anything,” added Hickman.
Set to give birth to her daughter in March, Kelley isn’t ready to name her Michael.
“I’ve had plenty of scans before and none of the photos have ever looked like this one. It’s a bit spooky really.
“But it is my seventh child, and they say seven is a mythical number.”

Baby Killer Agnes Wong given UK Government bribe

The UK government is willing to pay criminal immigrants £4,500 in bribes to return to their home countries, effectively rewarding their crimes.
Agnes Wong, from Malaysia, was convicted of killing a 17-month-old baby, whom she was child-minding and jailed for five years in 2008. Wong was jailed after a court heard how she had swung the boy, Hugo Wang, by his ankles and smashed his head. He died of brain injuries.
In court Agnes Wong was accused of waging a ‘regime of terror’ against the baby, torturing him with a hairdryer and hitting him so hard with a ruler that it snapped. Baby Wang had been struck with such force that his brain had shifted in his skull and caused internal bleeding. Doctors also found bite and burn marks on his body.
In July this year she was released.
Two weeks ago was put on a plane back to Malaysia with a ‘voucher’, (Government bribe) worth £4,500 to spend when she got there.
Wong’s payment has sparked disbelief.
Friends of baby Hugo’s father, Jian Lin Situ said: “It is an absolute disgrace that she has got this money. That sort of money will go a long way in Malaysia.”
The UK government is waving a green flag to all serious criminals who wish to enter this country and be paid for their crimes.

Jenny O’Halloran from South Yorkshire went into labour and set off for the nearest hospital in Doncaster, with her partner.
It was the usual hurried affair, however the due baby was about to shock the couple by arriving faster than they expected.
Baby William was born on the M180, (Motorway) while partner Jamie Ostle was driving.
Father Jamie Ostle said: “When Jenny said catch him, I just put my hand out and caught him.
“It’s one of those amazing things in life that brings you so much closer as a couple and so close to baby Billy.
“He popped out and looked more shocked than we did to be honest, he wasn’t crying, he was just looking around as if to say ‘where am I, what’s happened’.”
He added: “To say he was born at such speed and hectic pace, he’s really laid back and placid.
Paramedics arrived at the hard shoulder of the Motorway to find Baby Billy wrapped in a blanket with parents waiting.
Mother and baby were then taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Jenny O’Halloran said her partner coped “amazingly well”.
The fast birth was particularly unexpected as Jenny endured long labours giving birth to her previous two children.
“I was in labour for 16 hours last time, so I thought we had plenty of time to get to the hospital,” she said.

Shark gives birth through bite in shock ‘Caesarean’
November 11, 2009 by Baby Chums
Amazingly a shark birthed four shark pups through a gash in it’s side, caused by another shark’s bite. Mother and babies are doing fine.
The bite, caused by a fellow shark is a regular occurrence amongst sharks in the wild.
Following the rather unconventional delivery in New Zealand, visitors saw the injured shark and were the first to alert staff at Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World in Auckland that they had seen something float from the gash.
Staff then removed the mother and found four more babies still in the womb before a Vet stitched the injury closed.
All eight shark pups survived.
However, experts say, the, “Cesarean” birth had probably saved the pup’s lives. Had the mother given birth naturally, most likely nocturnally, the babies would have been eaten by adult sharks and stingrays before staff could intervene.

A baby seemingly sticking two fingers up at his parents in a 4D scan has arrived.
The cheeky babies father Owen, 34, joked: “Luckily, he didn’t come out sticking two fingers up!”
Parents Kelly Winder and Owen Skeffington, from Preston, were left stunned when the baby stuck two
fingers up during a special 4D scan, Kelly was 27 weeks’ pregnant at the time.
The sonographer carrying out the 4D scan, asked for the couple’s permission to reproduce the image and put it on the wall for other patients to giggle at. Baby Owen has given hundreds and now hundreds of thousands a chuckle as his image is seen around the web.
Parents Kelly and Owen, have twins girls, Niamh and Erin, who are 3 years-old say in defense of their son’s unruly behavior in the womb that it could have simply been a reference to his two sisters…
Kelly gave birth to Owen at Royal Preston Hospital, he’s healthy and proud parents are happy.
