Katie Holmes Explains 3-Year-Old Suri’s High Heels
Katie Holmes has been criticized for allowing her 3-year-old daughter Suri Cruise to wear high heeled shoes out and about and the actress now defends her choices.
Katie Holmes says that her daughter’s high heeled shoes are simply dance shoes that just about any little girl would love. Katie also says that Suri makes her own choices when it comes to her footwear and clothing.
Suri has been photographed several times walking around with her mother wearing a pair of glittery high heeled shoes. There are even photographs of Suri rolling her ankle over ashe slips in her shoes in on the wet pavement.
Katie told Access Hollywood, “Like every little girl, she loves my high heels. They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them.”
Podiatrist do not recommend girls Suri’s age wearign heels. In fact, New York podiatrist Dr Oliver Zong told Fox News: “A common side effect of adults wearing heels too often is the tightening or shortening of the Achilles tendon. At Suri’s age, children are growing quickly, and you want everything growing at the same rate. If the tendon is not growing at the same rate as everything else, it could become a problem.”
He added, “If a parent allows their child to wear the heels in moderation, that’s one thing, but who’s to say what is moderate for a three-year-old child.”
Suri’s parents, Katie and Tom Cruise, have also been scrutinizing for allowing their daughter to wear makeup as well having a wardobe that costs over £2million.
Suri is the only child for Katie and Tom but Tom has 2 teenage children with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

who cares! it is her daughter. kids enjoy wearing what they like… my daughter still likes to wear her snow white halloween costume from last year. people must be pretty bored with their lives, to be worrying about what a little is wearing. grow up people

when i was a little kid(probably around 5-10) i would always wear hairband because i thought they look pretty, even though the back of my ears would hurt like hell, i continued to wear them. i did not complain to my mom,and she did not say anything. now more than 10 years later-i still have this lump on the back of my ear.
the point i am saying all this is that little children won’t know what is safe or not, good or bad for them-it is up to their parents to tell them what to do and not to do. the parents need to teach the kids. the adults need to look out for them, and look after them.

It’s time to take those heels off Suri and let her walk in her bare feet. At least the mom did one thing right, Suri CAN take them off if she gets tired of them, since she is not wearing tights or pantyhose *yet*.
I love that little girl, but I don’t think she needs to be wearing heals, at three years old she really doesn’t need even to wear shoes unless it is freezing cold outside (and tights and boots would be a good choice if it were).
Suri - you look better barefoot than wearing heels, leave the heels until you’re older!
