Celine Dion: Still Hopeful About Having Second Child

After an unsuccessful round of in vitro fertilization, the singer Celine Dion says that she is ready to try again for a second child.

Celine Dion and her husband René Angélil are going ahead with the second round of in vitro fertilization as they try for a second child. It was reported a few months ago that in fact Celine was pregnant  with her second baby, but just last month we her husband set the record straight saying it was untrue.

“I feel strong and honestly, we’re very blessed,” Dion, 41, tells Access Hollywood in a new interview. “We have a wonderful child, we’re extremely happy.”

The singer says that she is not stressed or daunted by the difficulties of getting pregnant and instead she is just hopeful. Celine says, “”It’s not like, ‘Oh my god, she’s not pregnant and she’s depressed. You know how it works. We are great. We hope for the best, we hope to get pregnant. If it happens, it happens.”

Celine says that she will be going back to the same doctor in New York for another round of in vitro.

Apparently Celine’s 8-year-old son Rene Charles has given the green light on having a sibling and trying again. Dion said, “When we announced to him that we were pregnant and then it didn’t work out, he said, ‘Wasn’t it supposed to be 100 percent sure?’ I said, ‘It was 100 percent, but it’s nature and it didn’t work out.’ And he was looking at me and he said, ‘Are you going to try again?’ I said, ‘Yeah, we are going to try again.’ He knows exactly what we are doing, so he’s great.”

Celine is 41 years old and her husband René Angélil is 67.
