Although Bindi Irwin is an old pro at walking the carpet at award ceremonies, Robert, 5 made his first award appearance in Melbourne at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, on the orange carpet.
The late Steve Irwin’s (aka The Crocodile Hunter) family attended the Australian Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards and this time Robert got to come as well. Bindi, 11, seemed excited to have her little brother along for the event.
“It’s very exciting, Robert’s here with me for the first time. We’re having such a good time,” Bindi told reporters. “It was very funny. We were waiting to come on to the orange carpet and he was like, ‘Can we go now? Can we go now?’ - he’s just like my dad.”
Bindi is carrying on the tradition of her father with her own television show that lets children know about different animals and preserving their environments.
Steve Irwin passed away in 2006 when he was stung in the chest by a stingray while filming a television special.
