Katherine Heigl Taking a Break From Grey’s Anatomy to Spend Time With Her Daughter

It’s being reported that Grey’s Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl will be taking another leave of absence from the show to spend time with her daughter Naleigh, whom she adopted two months ago.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Katherine Heigl will be taking another leave from Grey’s but this time it will be personal and not professional. The actress just recently took off several weeks from filming the television show to film a movie that she was starring in. At the same time, the actress adopted a 10-month old girl whom she named Naleigh.

Now, Heigl is asking for another break from Grey’s Anatomy, this time to celebrate her daughter’s first birthday on November 23 and to get to know her daughter better. She will be on a “belated maternity leave” so that she can spend time with Naleigh and her husband Josh Kelley.

Last year it was rumored that Heigl was leaving the television show along with her fellow co-star T.R. Knight, but the actress signed on for another year. Although she is starring in Grey’s Anatomy, the actress will only be seen in about half of the episodes this season.

Naleigh is the first child for Katherine and Josh, who have made it clear that they support adopting and most likely will not have a biological child of their own.
