Fort Hood shootings kills pregnant Francheska Velez
Tragically we can report that one of the named victims of the Forth Hood shootings, Francheska Velez, was pregnant.
One of the 13 people shot dead, Francheska Velez, 21, was filling out paperwork when Major Nidal Malik Hasan began shooting at the Texas base.
Francheska had only recently returned from a tour in Iraq, where she disarmed bombs, coming back early because she was pregnant and expecting a baby boy in May.
Father Juan Velez told Fox News Chicago that it had been his daughter’s dream to join the army and she had just signed up for another three years.
Her cousin Jennifer Arzuaga said: “She was very young. She wasn’t supposed to die the way she died.
“She was the happiest person in the world,”
CCTV aired by CNN appear to show Hasan in traditional Muslim clothing, including a prayer cap, in a shop on the base in the hours before the killings.
Major Hasan, is critically ill and under guard in hospital.
Kimberly Munley, the civilian police officer who confronted and shot the Fort Hood gunman, Major Hasan, is being hailed as a hero.
Fort Hood’s director of emergency services, says that Kimberly took shots in the left leg and knee area, which she described as, “minor scratches” and still needs surgery to remove bullets from her right side.

Everyone agrees that this is a great tragedy, but has anyone done the math here?
PFC Francheska Velez had spent 9-mos in Iraq, and was 3-mos pregnant . . . Did that happen during the course of her “official duties”?
I am an IOF veteran and currently deployed — I never got to engage in those types of activities while deployed to Iraq . .
So who was the father of her unborn child? Does he even know?
