Baby Rooney arrives! Wayne and Coleen welcome the new addition to the family

liverpool_womens_hospital2 Wayne and Coleen Rooney are celebrating the birth of their first baby! The babies sex is still unknown though Coleen is expected to return home from the hospital tomorrow evening.

Nine days late, it is believed that doctors then decided to induce the baby giving two misopostrol pills to help along with the delivery. She checked into the delivery room and gave birth to a baby boy at 12.45.

Wayne Rooney held his wife’s hand throughout the delivery period and was in tears when Col handed over the baby.

The Daily Mail quotes an inside source saying: “Wayne was a star with Coleen.

“He didn’t leave her side from the moment she came into the hospital.

“When Col gave birth, Wayne’s eyes welled up.

“As soon as he was handed the baby the tears began.

“He was over the moon and was saying “I can’t believe it.’”

Rooney looks set to miss tomorrow night’s United’s Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow to be with his wife and child.

The family of both Wayne and Coleen were in the hospital and Wayne’s brother Stephen and cousin Clare arrived at the hospital an hour after birth clutching flowers.

Coleen – who has been preparing her and Wayne’s £3.5 million mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire ahead of the big day - has been thrilled at the prospect of becoming a mum, saying recently: “Because you’re getting bigger, you can’t wait to meet the baby.”

She is also planning her own range of baby clothing.
