Ashlee Simpson-Wentz: “Pete and Bronx Come First”

In the December issue of Women’s Health, singer/actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz discusses how her family comes first over her career now.

Ashlee reveals that since marrying her husband Pete Wentz and becoming pregnant with her son Bronz Mowgli last year, her priorities have changed and she is “humbled” by it all.

She says that “Pete and Bronx come first” and adds, “I believe in letting life happen. There’s good, there’s bad, and then there’s great. If you learn from those things, you grow. I’ve really done a lot for 25, and there’s still a lot to come.”

She also reveals that she had absolutely no pregnancy jitters and during that time in her life she was “the most calm” she had ever been in her life.

The singer also talked about how she was able to lose those 50 pregnancy pounds after having her son Bronx, who turns 1 this week.

“I wasn’t in a rush to get back to this body for anyone else,” she insists. “It was more like, ‘I wanna look good [for me]. I wanna feel good.’”

She adds that her son actually has helped her lose the weight. “Bronx Pilates,” she explains. “And these [points to her biceps] are from holding him. He’s in my arms all the time.”

Ashlee was quick to point out though that she “likes curves,” mentioning that she had E’s while breastfeeding her son. She says, “what defines sexy is not someone’s weight.”

Ashlee recently was let go from the television series Melrose Place but will be starring in the musical Chicago.

Bronx is the first child for Ashlee and Pete.
