An Australian baby boy, just 6 month old, has escaped with only a bump on the head after he and his pram were run over by a 250-ton train at a suburban railway station in Melbourne
An horrifying video shows the baby in his pram rolling off the edge of a platform before it is hit and run over by the train.
No-one on the platform who saw the incident believed the child had survived. A senior police officer and railway officials were describing the incident as ‘a miracle’.
Police spokesman Sergeant Michael Ferwerda said: “It’s amazing how many people get too close to the tracks despite the dangers,
“We have had a lucky escape and it is a chance for commuters to heed warnings to be more careful.”
Watch the Video;
Mr Jon Wright, an intensive care paramedic with Ambulance Victoria, said: ‘All he needed, apparently, was a feed and a nap.’
