First Baby at TriPoint Gets College Scholarship

New parents Kayla Larbig and Ben Parsons celebrated the birth of their son Ayden at TriPoint Medical Center and the award of his first college scholarship on the same day!

Ayden was the first baby born at Lake Health’s new TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township, Ohio, at 9:50 a.m. on October 21, the first day the Medical Center opened. Ayden weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long.

“Having a baby has been such an exciting experience in itself,” said first-time mother Kayla Larbig. “So we were extremely surprised and overwhelmed when we found out that Ayden would be receiving a scholarship to Lake Erie College. It’s a wonderful gift, and we’re very grateful.”

More than 1,950 babies are born at Lake Health hospital each year. The hospital partnered with Lake Erie College for the scholarship to celebrate the birth of the first baby and the opening of TriPoint Medical Center in a special way.

“Lake Erie College is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in our area, and like Lake Health, is committed to the growth and vitality of Lake County. We’re so grateful to Lake Erie College for their generosity in providing a four-year-, full-tuition scholarship to Ayden, the first baby born at TriPoint Medical Center,” said Cynthia Moore-Hardy, FACHE, president and CEO of Lake Health.
