Coleen Rooney, 23, reportedly worth £8m, elected to have her baby at a local NHS hospital. Coleen’s choice is just six miles from where she grew up in Croxteth, Liverpool.
Coleen has snubbed private healthcare in a show of support for the NHS. She recently made a documentary featuring her adopted sister Rosie, who suffers from Rett Syndrome, to raise funds for NHS hospices.
Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s baby, the first for the couple, will be born at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
Staff at the hospital are said to be over-the-moon with her choice. A source told The Mirror;
“The midwives here can’t wait to help her through the birth.
“It is a tremendous fillip for all the dedicated and hard-working staff. They are really proud of LWH and overjoyed Coleen has opted to support them and the NHS.”
Victoria Beckham had her two sons Brooklyn and Romeo at London’s Portland Hospital.
The hospital was also where Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard’s partner Elen Rives had her two girls.
However, Alex Curran and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard’s two daughters were born on the NHS at the hospital chosen by Coleen which has a maximum three-star rating from the Healthcare Commission.
Collen Rooney is due on October 24, the same day as husband Wayne’s 24th birthday.
A spokesman for Coleen declined to comment
Where other footballers wives have chosen to give birth;
Posh, Louise Redknapp & Elen Rives. The three, WAGS, (Wives and girlfriends of footballers) have all chosen the private and exclusive Portland Hospital in London to give birth.

I’m not surprised that the Rooneys’ have opted for NHS birth as they even used discount vouchers when visiting a restaurant-They always say ‘Money goes to money!
They are not going to spend their cash if they can help it!
