Baby Born on Air Asia Plane gets free flights for Life
Liew Siaw Hsia, 31, and her newborn son are to receive a lifetime of free flights from Air Asia after her baby was born on one of their planes.
An Air Asia flight, AK 6506 to Borneo Island was the surprising airborne delivery room when Liew’s baby decided to arrive.
Air Asia said Liew went into labor during a flight on Wednesday from Penang to Kuching on Borneo Island. The airline made an emergency diversion to land the plane, but Liew’s baby wasn’t waiting.
With the help of flight attendants, the baby was delivered by a doctor who was luckily on board the plane just before landing at 2,000 feet. Liew and her baby were then taken to a local hospital.
The airline’s director, Moses Devanayagam, said; “To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to present both mother and child with free flights for life.”
