Six Moms in New York Suing the Maker of Baby Gender Mentor Kit
Six moms are suing the inventor of the Baby Gender Mentor kit for not giving them the promised 200% refund after the test predicted the wrong sex of their babies.
Baby Gender Mentor Kit has been getting some press for quite some time now as it promises an accuracy of 99% of predicting an unborn baby’s gender. The maker of the test brands it was “infallibly accurate.” The test costs $25 to purchase and then charges a $250 fee to get the results of the baby gender prediction test. The company offers a 200% money back guarantee if the test predicts the wrong gender for the mother.
According to six women from New York, the company is not following up on the 200% money back guarantee. These women all bought this test and received results that were incorrect in predicting the sex of their babies.
Lorelei Fitzgerald and Brittany Hayes both gave birth to girls after the test results told them to expect boys, which left them with baby rooms and infant clothes for the wrong gender. According to the suit that was filed with Manhattan Supreme Court, Hayes, “began to bond on a deeper level with her child and began to call him by his name.” When an ultrasound showed she was having a girl, she and her family members were “disappointed.”
Another woman says that an incorrect baby gender test led to the demise of her marriage. A lawyer for the women says that the test “messed with the minds” of the women. He also went on to say, “None of them would say, ‘Take my baby away’ or ‘I don’t want this baby’ - they love their babies. But when you rely on something and you pay for it, you have a right for it to be true.”
The Baby Gender Mentor Kit is manufactured by Acu-Gen Biolab. The women are seeking refunds from the tests and other unspecified damages.
