Pregnancy Stopped Ana Ortiz From Fulfilling Musical Dream
The Ugly Betty actress says that she was finally going to fulfill her dream of being in a musical, but then she found out she was pregnant.
Ana Ortiz has dreamed about being in a musical. She told OK!, “I was actually gonna audition for [Chicago] and then I got pregnant!”
Ana did hint though that she has not given up on the dream just yet. While at the Ambassador Theatre in NYC, she told the magazine, “I sort of would love to do either Thelma or Roxie. It’s where I started! It’s where all of us in Betty [started]. We’re all like theatre geeks.”
The actress hid her pregnancy on Ugly Betty and has no worries about losing the weight before going back to film the next season. “Because they didn’t write (my pregnancy] into the show, it was kind of important to me to try to stay as much in shape as possible.” She admits that it was the first time that she worked with a personal trainer so that she did not over-do it while pregnant.
Ana is due with her first child this July.
