US Olympic Gold Medalist Amanda Beard Expecting First Child
US Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard is 5 months pregnant with her first child.
Amanda Beard, 27, just wed her husband, Sacha Brown on May 1st, but the couple is already expecting their first child together. Beard is currently 5 1/2 months pregnant with a boy.
The couple married on the beach at Wakatobi, an archipelago in the Banda Sea off southeastern Indonesia. Amanda said that she always wanted to get “married barefoot on the sand,” and that is exactly what they did. The couple decided to follow the local Muslim customs and covered up their bodies for their wedding. Amanda wore a long black tunic with a long sarong and a white veil, while Sacha wore a long sarong as well.
According to Beard, she’s “starting to look pregnant.” Amanda is planning on getting back to swimming competitively about 6 months after having her baby and hopes to compete in the 2012 Olympics.
Amanda’s due date is September.
