Sarah Jessica Parker Concerned About Safety of Surrogate Mom and Babies

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker finally spoke out about the surrogate mother who is carrying her twin girls, saying that she is concerned about their safety now.

According to Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker, the surrogate mother who is carrying her twin girls is a very strong woman who made “an incredibly generous and gracious choice.” But the actress now fears that her strength may not be enough after all the media attention that the mom is getting after Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick announced they were expecting the twin girls this July.

Sarah Jessica told Access Hollywood, “On a daily basis, on an hourly basis, I am greatly concerned for her health and safety and the safe delivery of our children. I am incredibly outraged by the sort of extraordinary and unprecedented invasion of her privacy. She’s [okay] today, but she’s had a bad week in the very recent past… You understand what stress, worry and fear and being scared can do. She’s quite far along in this pregnancy and she’s carrying two children…. There’s simply no excuse for doing this to somebody. It’s not acceptable.”

Parker also said that the surrogate, along with her friends and family have actually gotten threats and have been harassed endlessly by tabloids and paparazzi.

She went on to say, “Obviously there are those that don’t care about her, or her health, or safety, or my children’s health and safety, and that they should go to term and not go into an early labor and, God forbid, suffer all the things that can happen — that is a real possibility. Every single allegation that I know has been suggested about her is absolutely slander and libel … it’s really incredibly upsetting to think of her so far away and me not being able to do something, beyond what I’m legally allowed to do.”

The actress also revealed that her and husband had actually explored several ways to expand their family and turned towards surrogacy out of “necessity.” She said, “I couldn’t pretend otherwise. It would have been odd to have made this choice if I was able to have had successful pregnancies since my son’s birth.”

Sarah Jessica also says that she is “confortable” with the surrogate mother and thinks she is a “honorable person.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are also parents to 6-year-old James Wilkie.
