Penny Lancaster Reveals Her Fight With Infertility

Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, reveals that she has been unable to conceive a second child after trying for the past year.

Penny Lancaster, 38, who already has a 2-year-old son (Alastair) with her husband Rod Stewart, 64, reveals that she is heartbroken over not being able to conceive a second child after trying for the past year.

Penny said, “I think Rod’s touring and running around interferes with things but we still have high hopes.”

A rep for Penny also said, “It’s well known that it took Penny a long time to conceive Alastair. I think that it is simply a question of age and it obviously does become more difficult the older people are. There are so many factors that combine, but they plan to keep trying. They would dearly love a younger brother or sister for Alastair and they will continue to try until it happens and everyone is wishing them luck.”

Alastair was born only after Penny suffered two miscarriages. Also after he was born, she pre-cancerous cells on her cervix, which she had removed with laser surgery. Lastly, after suffering from stomach pains, it was found she had a large cyst on her ovary.

Even after all of that, her rep said, “I’m sure it will happen eventually. They did manage to conceive Alastair perfectly naturally. I’m not sure if Penny has considered IVF, that’s something which is very personal.”

Rod Stewart has a total of 6 children, with 5 of them being from previous relationships with Alana Hamilton, Kelly Emberg, and Rachel Hunter.
