More Childless Couples In UK Using Indian Surrogate Mothers
According to the Sun newspaper today, there has been a surge in surrogate mothers from India given birth for childless couples from the UK.
The claim was made by a top obstetrician from a hospital in Mumbi, who delivers one child every 48 hours from an Indian surrogate carrying a British child.
Dr Anita Soni told the paper: “I deliver babies from Indian women for British couples at the rate of more than 15 a month.
“For these surrogate mothers that amount of money is life-changing. It helps them set up a home, get their daughters married or something like that.
“There is absolutely no exploitation of these women. It is really big money. It is a jackpot.
“They go through a little bit of emotional trauma, but then they go back home and they realise they have done it for a good cause.”
Currently surrogacy is legal in the South Asian state, and refered to as “baby factories” for couples desperate to become parents.
Chris (40) and Susan Morrison (37), from London, paid £8,000 to have twins Louis and Freya by using an Indian surrogate. They are currently awaiting for immigration in the UK to allow them to return to England with their babies.
“It’s a miracle. We have got two beautiful babies - a boy and a girl. There were times when I thought this would never happen.” said Susan.
Chris added: “There must be many couples like us having trouble becoming parents who might want to try surrogacy, but find the red tape and hassle too much.”

I hope these people don’t pay £8K to the surrogate mother and then pass a bill onto the UK taxpayer for the kid for the next 18 years. You want kids - You pay for them!
