Women Arrested For Trying To Sell Baby To Buy Flat
An Australian woman has been arrested for trying to sell her five-month-old son so she could buy a flat.
Rebecca Sue Taylor, 19, allegedly offered her baby for sell to Leigh Burr for $10,000 (US).
Taylor told Burr that she had been unable to bond with her son, and was desperate for money.
Burr had previously asked Taylor to become a surrogate mother for her, when Taylor had made the offer to sell her baby. She the offered to drop the price down to $5000.
Police from Kanawha County, West VIrginia, are investigating the claims made by Burr. If found guilty, she could face a fine of $2000 and up to five years behind bars.
