Chinese watchdogs are evaluating the safety of baby products manufactured by Johnson & Johnson.
On Thursday, an American consumers group stated that some of the ingredients found in Johnson & Johnson products had been linked with cancer.
The Chinese health authorities in Shanghai were not available for comment.
Johnston & Johnston claim that the quantities of chemicals in their products are considered safe for babies by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
This week the Shanghai-based chain of supermarkets, the Nonggongshang Group, withdrew all baby products produced by Johnson & Johnson from over 3,500 shops.
There are no further plans for other outlets will do the same until the investigation is complete.
