Baby Boy likely killed by dogs
Gwent Police are investigating the death of a baby boy, intial test results indicate that the injuries inflicted may have been caused by two family dogs at his grandmother’s home.
Police have repeated their warning that dogs should never be left unsupervised with young children.
Jaden Mack Three-and-a-half-month’s old, was likely killed by a Jack Russell and a Staffordshire bull terrier, post-mortem examination’s have indicated.
Jaden was taken from his grandmother’s home in Caerphilly county to hospital, where he was pronounced dead early on Saturday. Both dogs have since been destroyed. Police said the two dogs, “were removed from the property immediately after the incident and they have now been humanely destroyed”.
Jaden’s parents were out at the time, and his grandmother was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
Family liaison officers from the Police remain with the relatives, who said, “wish to be left alone to grieve”.
No arrests have been made.
